College Honors Excellence in SCI at 35th Annual Awards Celebration

The College recognized outstanding achievements across faculty, staff, and students during the 35th Annual College of Computing Awards celebration, held on April 20 in the Klaus Atrium. Hosted by Dean Vivek Sarkar, the luncheon highlighted significant contributions to the College community, with several honorees from the School of Computing Instruction (SCI). 

Undergraduate awards were presented by Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education Olufisayo Omojokun, recognizing excellence in leadership, teaching, and research. 

Undergraduate Awards:

  • Outstanding Legacy Leadership Award – Venkata Goli 
  • Outstanding Undergraduate Head Teaching Assistant Award – Elias Lind 
  • Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Award – Joseph Thomas 
  • Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award – Brisa (Brin) Maneechotesuwan 

 Faculty Awards:  

  • William D. “Bill” Leahy Outstanding Instructor Award – Pedro Feijóo-García
  • Monica Sweat Outstanding Lecturer in External Engagement Award – Nimisha Roy 

The celebration underscored SCI’s impact within the College, highlighting the breadth of excellence within its community.
